Flexible Interface Design - Widgets and Tabs

A widget (short for 'window gadget') refers to a component in the graphical user interface (GUI). Widgets are the basic building blocks of the Innovation Portal GUI, with a particular appearance and behaviour. The widget appearance can be fully or partially controlled by the user, depending on the configuration set by the administrator of the application. Every widget is designed to display and handle a specific type of content.

Personalised Homepage - Innovation Dashboard

Every user accesses the Innovation Portal by his personal dashboard or 'homepage'. The widgets on the dashboard contain all items available to a user, assigned by the roles and rights management of the Innovation Portal. The user can add his personal touch to his dashboard by activating, changing and arranging the widgets that are at his disposal.

Powerful Process Design - Roles and Actions

Activating the configuration tab of CogniStreamer® Innovation Portal offers a set of widgets that allow administrators to define User Roles and assign specific rights or actions to user groups or individual Users.

  • The Roles Manager Widget: create and define roles on Application, Seed and Cluster level. Every Role is defined by assigning one or more Widget Actions to it.
  • The User Groups Widget: create User Groups and link individual Users to it.
  • The Application Rights Widget: assign User Groups or individual Users to the Application Level Roles created in the Roles Manager Widget.
  • The Seed Rights Widget: assign User Groups or individual Users to the Seed Level Roles created in the Roles Manager Widget.
  • The Cluster Rights Widget: assign User Groups or individual Users to the Cluster Level Roles created in the Roles Manager Widget.
